腫瘤在世界范圍內呈現三高趨勢，即高發病率、高致殘率和高病死率，在我國某些地區已成為居民首位死亡原因。罹患腫瘤會使患者產生嚴重的心理應激反應，繼而產生軀體癥狀，降低患者的生存質量。希望是對能達到某種目標有信心的感受，是積極心理學的重要組成部分。國外從20世紀60年代起開始進行希望研究，證實個體內在的希望水平與其身心健康密切相關，并指出醫務人員幫助腫瘤患者及其家庭發掘和維持希望是一項有意義的工作。該文對影響腫瘤患者希望水平的相關因素進行了綜述。
