        • The pathogenesis, diagnosis and treatment progress of coronavirus disease 2019 complicated by renal injury

With the in-depth understanding of the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2, it has been found that the virus not only causes serious damage to the human respiratory system, but also damages the kidney system, which can be manifested as acute kidney injury, and in severe cases, renal failure can occur. Patients with coronavirus disease 2019 and chronic kidney disease are at higher risk of worsening their condition and even death. Therefore, early recognition and intervention of renal injury is particularly important for prognosis. In this paper, the clinical data of renal injury in patients with coronavirus disease 2019 were reviewed, and the possible pathogenesis, incidence, clinical features, diagnosis and treatment were proposed for reference in clinical decision-making.

        • Interpretation of 《Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine Practice Guidelines for Diagnosis and Treatment of Acute Pancreatitis》

Integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine has been used to treat acute pancreatitis (AP) for more than 50 years. It has become a dominant and specialized disease treated by integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine. After many years of clinical practice, a relatively mature and complete treatment system has been formed. Therefore, it was proposed by the Chinese Society of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine, the Chinese Medical Association, and the Chinese Association of Traditional Chinese Medicine to update and formulate the “Guidelines for the Diagnosis and Treatment of Acute Pancreatitis with Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine” (2021) group standards in 2022, and “Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine Practice Guidelines for Diagnosis and Treatment of Acute Pancreatitis” finally published. The guideline condenses 25 kinds of important clinical issues, which guide to explain the diagnosis and treatment of AP in detail, focusing on the integration of traditional Chinese medicine and Western medicine in the management of AP, such as staging and syndrome differentiation, early fluid therapy, pain management, and organ function support in early stage. The advantages and the timing of early intervention of traditional Chinese medicine in AP are emphasized. This guideline also proposes suggestions on nutritional support, management of causes, treatment of late local complications and infections, as well as prevention of recurrence and follow-up strategies for long-term complications. This paper provides an interpretation of this guideline.

        • Research advances in large language models for lung cancer diagnosis and treatment

Lung cancer is a leading cause of cancer-related morbidity and mortality worldwide. Coupled with the substantial workload, the clinical management of lung cancer is challenged by the critical need to efficiently and accurately process increasingly complex medical information. In recent years, large language model technology has undergone explosive development, demonstrating unique advantages in handling complex medical data by leveraging its powerful natural language processing capabilities, and its application value in the field of lung cancer diagnosis and treatment is continuously increasing. This article reviews the research progress and applications of large language models in assisting with lung cancer diagnosis, tumor feature extraction, staging, analysis of disease progression and outcomes, treatment recommendations, clinical documentation generation, and patient medical education. We further analyze the current challenges and opportunities, and provide an outlook on the future development of specialized large language models for lung cancer.
