Researches in evidence-based medicine have provided important evidence for family planning doctors to guide their clinical practice. With examples of clinical researches, the practical methods of evidence-based medicine in family planning service are discussed in this paper.
We summarized and analyzed the researches of the workshop on Evidence-Based Medicine for Medical Editors which was recently held concerning its teachers, training method, trainee distribution and recent progress. We hope to provide a new approach to improving the level of medical editors and clinical trials.
This is the sixth paper in the evidence-based medicine glossary series. In this paper, We mainly introduced the concept of research synthesis, systematic review and meta-analysis and review developing process of these glossary.
While proposing evidence-based medical decision, we analyzed the existing problems in laboratory medicine, discussed the necessity and probability and explored the practicing way of evidence-based laboratory medicine, in order to follow the latest developing of clinical medicine and provide the best clinical laboratory technique and clinical laboratory service for good patient care.
ObjectivesTo evaluate the reporting status of conflict of interest and economic evidence in Chinese clinical practice guidelines published in 2017 and to provide implications for the guideline development in China.MethodsCNKI, WanFang Data and Google Scholar were electronically searched to collect clinical practice guidelines published in 2017 from January 1st to December 31st, 2017. Two authors independently screened literature, extracted information of interest, such as conflict of interest disclosure and economic evidences, then, the analysis was performed by using the Microsoft Excel 20013 software.ResultsA total of 53 guidelines were included; in which, 14 (26.42%) disclosed conflict of interest, 10 (18.87%) stated sources of funding, and 6 (11.32%) mentioned economics evidence.ConclusionIn China, inadequate attention is addressed to the conflict of interest disclosure and economics evidence during the development of clinical practice guidelines. We propose the inclusion of conflict of interest and economics evidence disclosure in clinical practice guidelines, which will improve their objectivity, independence, and transparency.
Objective To investigate the accurateness and rapidity of information on SARS , and to provide evidence for decision-making in the construction of the public health information system of China, including information collection, identification and release. Method SARS related information was systematically collected, from ① databases including Medline, CBMdisc and Cochrane Library; ② official websites including WHO, MOH and CDC; ③ non-governmental websites including Sina, Sohu, Yahoo; ④ eleven Chinese Journals and ⑤ gray literatures, These evidence were graded based on their scientific sense, and were analyzed according to their rapidity of release. Results A total of 11 955 pieces of related information were collected. Non-governmental websites were the agents that released the largest number of information (46.7%). Regarding the scientific sense of evidence, hand searched journal was at the top of the evidence pyramid, and followed by Medline, gray literature, CBMdisc, official and non-governmental websites. Regarding the rapidity, official website achieved the most rapid information release, which was followed by nongovernmental website, journal, and database. 71.8 percent of information from official websites was in Chinese, while 65 percent was from database. Conclusions The SARS information from China has contributed enormously to the global information release. Although the amount and rapidity of the information were satisfied, management and deep processing of information should be improved.
Based on the site visit on the current application and practice of evidence-based medicine in USA, we find the difference between China and USA so as to further promote and plan the development of evidence-based medicine in China.
Objective To observing about how effect is the education prescription using by the medical students, looking into whether the manner can attach the students attention and improve on the retrieval ability for them. Methods Choosing one of the cases come from PubMed and drawing out a clinical question. Asking total 100 students to search literature and write search strategy, search results and the reason about the results by chosen (similar to appraisal evidence), and their self-evaluation of this process. Results Of the 100 students, 96 (96%) searched PubMed/MEDLINE, and 79 (79%) searched second research database, 28 (28%) searched Science Citation Index (Web of Science), 38 (38%) chosen one of ten articles according with the articles chosen by the overseas doctors. We found no students weren’t interesting in the education prescription, but 65 (65%) didn’t think the education prescription be easy achieved, at the same time they mentioned that the retrieval problems were solved or profited came from the practice. Conclusions Filling education prescription can attract students attention and induct them to learn the basic concept of EBM, and to practice how to searching evidence and the feedback of students can help improve on teaching work.
