ObjectiveTo review the research progress in nursing management of early oral feeding (EOF) after gastrectomy under the concept of enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS), and to provide a reference for the standardized nursing management of EOF in clinical practice. MethodsLiterature at home and abroad on nursing management of EOF after gastrectomy under the concept of ERAS was retrieved and reviewed. ResultsCurrent evidence supports that EOF after gastrectomy under the concept of ERAS is safe and feasible, and can promote gastrointestinal function recovery and shorten the length of hospital stay. Nursing research on EOF has gradually shifted from safety evaluation to standardized implementation, researches mainly focusing on feeding protocols, tolerance assessment, stratified nursing care, complication monitoring and health education. For the different surgical options and different groups of people, nursing strategies are different, and lack of uniform approaches. ConclusionsEOF after gastrectomy under the concept of ERAS has good clinical application value. Standardized and individualized nursing management is essential to ensure the safe implementation of EOF and promote postoperative recovery.
