The comprehensive promotion of ideological and political education across the curriculum is a strategic pathway to fulfill the fundamental mission of higher education in China. In the context of medical education, this initiative is not only a political imperative but also an intrinsic requirement for the advancement of the discipline itself. The quality of medical education has a direct impact on the sustainable development of the national healthcare system and the protection of public health. Embedding ideological and political elements into the core of medical curricula, particularly into evidence-based medicine (EBM) courses, serves not only to consolidate students’ professional knowledge, but also to foster critical thinking, ethical judgment, and a sense of humanistic care. This, in turn, lays a foundation for cultivating medical professionals who are both technically competent and morally grounded. Using EBM as a focal point, this paper explores pathways for the effective integration of ideological and political education within professional medical teaching, aiming to support medical institutions in developing sustainable, collaborative education models. The goal is to enhance the ideological, scientific, and humanistic dimensions of medical education in a comprehensive and systematic way.
