Angiopoietin (Ang), a superfamily of secreted proteins, is a vascular growth factor that regulates the stability of vascular environment, participates in angiogenesis and repair, and lipid metabolism. It plays an important role in the development of DR and has become a new target for the treatment of diabetic retinopathy.
