In recent years, an increasing amount of systematic reviews have been published; however, few reviews adequately considered and reported details of interventions, which not only limited the usability of systematic reviews but also wasted resource. In order to improve reporting of intervention details in systematic reviews, BMJ recently published recommendations. This paper interprets the recommendations to improve usability of systematic reviews.
ObjectiveTo systematically review the association between migraine and lacunar infarcts on MR image.MethodsPubMed, EMbase, The Cochrane Library, CNKI, VIP and WanFang Data databases were electronically searched to collect randomized controlled trials, cohort studies and cross-sectional studies on the association between migraine and lacunar infarcts from inception to March 2019. Two reviewers independently screened literature, extracted data and assessed the risk of bias of included studies, then, meta-analysis was performed by RevMan 5.3 software.ResultsA total of 5 studies involving 5 104 participants were included. The results of meta-analysis showed that: there were no significant associations of migraine (OR=0.93, 95%CI 0.78 to 1.12, P=0.470) and aura (OR=1.10, 95%CI 0.89 to 1.36, P=0.390) with lacunar infarcts on MR image. Subgroup analysis by age, presence or absence of aura showed no significant tendency.ConclusionsThere is no significant relationship between migraine and lacunar infarcts. Due to limited quality and quantity of the included studies, more high quality studies are required to verify above conclusions.
【Abstract】 Objective To investigate the effects of Epi-LASIK on retinal nerve fiber layer (RNFL) thickness in patients with large cup. Methods Forty-four patients (44 eyes) with high myopia from January 2007 to January 2009, whose C /D area ratios were above 0.5, underwent optical coherence tomography(OCT)examination. To measure the RNFL thickness taking optic disk as the center, diameter as 3.4 mm, for quadrant graph as above, below, temporal, lateral. After the operation in the first 10 days, and one, three months, and one, two years after surgery were followed. The data were analyzed by analysis of variance. Results The RNFL thickness at every quadrant had no statistical significant difference between preoperative period and postoperative time(Pgt;0.05). Conclusion Epi-LASIK surgery has no effect on RNFL thickness in high myopic patients with large cup.
Poly(styrene-block-isobutylene-block-styrene) (SIBS) and its crosslinked product crosslinked polyisobutylene (xPIB) are a kind of novel thermoplastic elastomer. They have excellent biocompatibility and stability, which are suitable for long-term implantation in human body. At present, SIBS is widely used in cardiovascular diseases, and also has preliminary application in ophthalmology. This article reviews the application and research progress of SIBS and xPIB in ophthalmic glaucoma minimally drainage tube material, intraocular lens material, new sclera buckle material and orbital defect filler, with a view of providing reference for the clinical application of such biomedical materials in ophthalmology.
ObjectiveTo analyze the research status and summarize research hotspots and development trends of research on artificial intelligence in stomatology. MethodsData retrieved from the Web of Science Core Collection database from inception to 2021 were analyzed by CiteSpace software. ResultsThe number of publications about artificial intelligence in stomatology was rising. The United States ranked first in terms of publications and cooperation capabilities. Apart from comprehensive stomatology journals, the literature was mainly published by specialist journals of oral and maxillofacial surgery, orthodontic and dental radiology. Oral head and neck tumors were the frontier field of artificial intelligence research in stomatology. Artificial intelligence, including deep learning and neural networks, showed the tremendous potential medical value and economic value in assisting in the diagnosis and treatment decisions of oral diseases. ConclusionThe research of artificial intelligence in stomatology has rapidly increased, which is conducive to the development of stomatology in the direction of digitalization, intelligence, and individuation.
Sleep disorder is related to many comorbidities, such as diabetes, obesity, cardiovascular diseases, and hypertension. Because of its increasing prevalence rate, it has become a global problem that seriously threatens people’s health. Various forms of sleep disorder can cause increased insulin resistance and/or decreased sensitivity, thus affecting the occurrence, development and prognosis of diabetes. However, sleep health has not been paid attention to in recent years. Therefore, this article summarizes the findings of the correlation between sleep disorder and diabetes mellitus in recent years, by elaborating the relationship between various types of sleep disorder (including sleep apnea syndrome) and diabetes mellitus, as well as their mechanisms and intervention measures, in order to enhance the attention of clinical workers to sleep health, and to provide basis for reducing the risk of diabetes.
ObjectiveTo analyze the hotspots and frontiers of oral lichen planus research by bibliometric methods.MethodsWe searched Web of Science Core Collection database to obtain studies on oral lichen planus from inception to January 1st, 2020. After data extraction, Excel 2016 and CiteSpace software were used to carry out descriptive and visual analysis.ResultsA total of 3 105 articles and reviews were included, and the annual publication volume showed a steady growth trend. The research hotspot terms of oral lichen planus were cancer, lesion, and management of the disease. Moreover, pathogenesis, potentially malignant disorder, classification, and diagnosis were defined as novel research frontiers.ConclusionsThrough the bibliometric method, the research hotspots and frontiers of oral lichen planus are displayed intuitively, which provides references for future research.
ObjectiveTo evaluate the predictive value of the diaphragm ultrasound for weaning from mechanical ventilation.MethodsThe patients who received mechanical ventilation in Fujian Provincial Hospital between February 2016 to December 2017 and met the criteria for a T-tube spontaneous breathing trial were included in the study. Then right diaphragmatic displacement (DD) and diaphragmatic thickening fraction (DTF) were evaluated using M-mode ultrasonography as well as the rapid shallow breathing index (RSBI, the ratio of respiratory rate to tidal volume). A new index was named as the diaphragmatic-RSBI (D-RSBI, the ratio of respiratory rate to DD). The patients were classified into a success group or a failure group according to the weaning outcomes. The receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves were calculated to evaluate the predictive performance of each index.ResultsFifty-nine patients were weaned successfully and failure of weaning was found in 29 patients. There were no statistically significant differences in pre-weaning parameters including age, sex, systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure, blood lipid index (total cholesterol, low-density lipoprotein cholesterol, high-density lipoprotein cholesterol, triglyceride), or fast blood glucose between the weaning success group and the weaning failure group (P>0.05), but there were statistically significant differences in body mass index and acute physiology and chronic health condition Ⅱ score between two groups (P<0.05). DD [(13.44±3.23)mm vs. (10.28±2.82)mm, DTF [(32.43±12.35)% vs. (27.64±5.77)%, P<0.05] and D-RSBI [(1.49±0.47) breaths·min–1·mm–1 vs. (2.55±0.87) breaths·min–1·mm–1, P<0.05] differed significantly between the weaning success group and the weaning failure group. A cutoff of DTF≥27.9% yielded a sensitivity of 98.3%, a specificity of 62.1%, and an area under the ROC curve (AUC) of 0.873. A cutoff of D-RSBI≤1.73 breaths·min–1·mm–1 yielded a sensitivity of 76.3%, a specificity of 93.1%, and an AUC of 0.887. By comparison, when RSBI was ≤50.9 breaths·min–1·mm–1, there was a sensitivity of 91.5%, a specificity of 86.2%, and an AUC of 0.927. There was no statistically significant difference in AUC between D-RSBI and RSBI (P>0.05).ConclusionsDiaphragm ultrasound is feasible to predict the outcome of weaning. DTF and D-RSBI are as same accurate as the traditional RSBI in predicting the weaning outcome, but more objective and suitable for clinical application.
