        • Application of transcutaneous oxygen pressure in scar assessment

Objective To review the application and research progress of transcutaneous oxygen pressure (TcPO2) in scar assessment. Methods The original articles about scar and TcPO2 were reviewed and analyzed. Results Hypoxia environment plays an important role in the progression of scar tissue. TcPO2 can accurately reflect the oxygen tension of scar tissue, which is of great significance in the assessment of scar maturity, the guidance of scar treatment, and the study of correlations between hypoxia and the progression of scar. Conclusion TcPO2 measurement is important in the study of scar evaluation, treatment, and correlation between hypoxia and scar formation.

        • Research progress of hair follicle and related stem cells in scar-free wound healing

ObjectiveTo explore the research progress of hair follicle and related stem cells in scar-free skin healing in recent years.MethodsThe literature related to hair follicle and related stem cells, wound healing, and scar formation in recent years was extensively reviewed and summarized from the aspects of cell function and molecular mechanism.ResultsScar tissue after wound healing treated with hair follicle transplantation and related stem cell therapy is more mild or even without scar formation. The cell types and molecular mechanisms of the above phenomena are complex, and the bone morphogenetic protein signal transduction pathway and Wnt signal transduction pathway are strongly correlated.ConclusionThe research of hair follicle and related stem cells in scar-free skin healing is at the initial stage at present. Strengthening the mechanism research may provide new ideas for the treatment of wound and scar.

        • Advances on efficacy and mechanisms of acidic fibroblast growth factor for promoting injured tissue repair

Objective To review the research progress on acid fibroblast growth factor (aFGF) in promoting tissue injury repair and its mechanism of action. Methods By searching and reviewing the basic and clinical studies on aFGF published in recent years, the roles of aFGF in tissue injury including full-thickness skin, mucous and skin barrier, bone and nerve fiber were summarized. Results As a key member of the FGF family, aFGF exhibits potent mitogenic activity, it can regulate various cells proliferation and migration, accelerate extracellular matrix synthesis, promote angiogenesis and nerve fiber repair, upregulate tight junction protein expression, and therefore exert dual regulatory effects on dermal and epidermal regeneration and repair. It demonstrates promising clinical application for full-thickness healing and skin and mucosal barriers repair. Additionally, it mediates the regeneration and differentiation of osteoblasts, cardiomyocytes, and follicle cells, exhibiting potential for repairing multiple tissues and organs. Furthermore, the aFGF's functions in regulating energy metabolism, immune-inflammatory responses, and alleviating aging have revealed in recent years, indicating a broad clinical application. Conclusion aFGF is a valuable member of the FGF family. It is widely used in various kinds of wound healing, besides, it also holds promising application in multiple tissue and organ regeneration and repair.

        • Hair transplantation in wound healing and scar repair in special areas

Objective To review recent advances in the application of hair transplantation in wound healing and scar repair in special areas. Methods An extensive review of the literature on the application of hair transplantation in wound healing and scar repair in special areas was conducted, focusing on cellular functions, molecular mechanisms, and clinical applications. ResultsHair transplantation has been shown to effectively promote wound healing and scar repair in special areas. The underlying mechanisms are complex, but current understanding emphasizes a strong association with hair follicle-associated stem cells (including epidermal stem cells, dermal papilla cells, dermal sheath cells, etc). ConclusionThe application of hair transplantation in wound healing and scar repair in special areas remains in its early stages. Further investigation into its mechanisms of action is essential, and randomized controlled trials are needed to establish its efficacy.
