        • Current status and prospect of treatment of advanced gastric cancer

ObjectiveTo understand the latest research progress in the treatment of advanced gastric cancer (AGC) and explore the optimal treatment strategy. Method The latest literature on the treatment of AGC was retrieved and reviewed. Results For patients with AGC, chemotherapy, radiotherapy, targeted therapy, immunotherapy, palliative therapy, nutritional support, and traditional Chinese medicine therapy were currently adopted in clinic, the combination of them were used usually. Some patients obtained good therapeutic effects by new chemotherapy drugs and antibody conjugated drugs. In the era of first-line immunotherapy or targeted therapy, first-line immunotherapy alone, immunotherapy in combination with chemotherapy, double immunotherapy, and immunotherapy combined with anti-angiogenesis targeted drugs for AGC had represented some survival benefits. ConclusionsThe research, development, and widespread application of new anti-tumor drugs have continuously expanded the treatment methods for AGC. The development of tumor molecular biology provides an opportunity for the treatment of AGC, and the precise diagnosis and treatment pattern guided by molecular typing is gradually maturing. However, the treatment of AGC is still facing challenges. In the era of precision medicine, facing the higher heterogeneity of gastric cancer, the dilemma of precise treatment of drugs for AGC, and the research and development of new anti-tumor drugs, the optimal treatment mode of AGC still needs more clinical exploration. It is necessary to comprehensively consider various aspects such as the patient’s physical condition, previous treatment status, and drug accessibility.

        • Overview of systemic therapy for advanced triple-negative breast cancer

ObjectiveTo sort out the key evidence-based data and recent advances in the systemic treatment of advanced triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC), to summarize the therapeutic strategies so as to provide guidance for clinical practice. MethodThe key evidence and research progress on immune checkpoint inhibitors, antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs), poly ADP-ribose polymerase (PARP) inhibitors, anti-angiogenic agents, and novel microtubule inhibitors were summarized. ResultsThe treatment landscape for advanced TNBC has shifted from chemotherapy-centric approaches to biomarker-driven, stratified precision therapy. Based on programmed cell death ligand 1 (PD-L1) expression levels, immune therapy combined with chemotherapy is prioritized. For patients with germline breast cancer gene 1/2 (gBRCA1/2) mutations, PARP inhibitors are recommended. ADCs are suggested for second-line treatment, while novel microtubule inhibitors, either alone or in combination with anti-angiogenic agents, are preferred for later-line therapy to extend patient survival. ConclusionDynamic monitoring of molecular biomarkers such as PD-L1 and gBRCA, combined with sequential or combined “targeted–immunotherapy–ADC” regimens in a “chemotherapy-free” approach, has shown promise in improving overall survival in advanced TNBC.

        • Interpretation of advances in the treatment of non-small cell lung cancer at the 2025 World Conference on Lung Cancer (WCLC)

The 26th World Conference on Lung Cancer (WCLC) was held in Barcelona during September 6-9, 2025. As the world's largest and most influential academic meeting in the field of lung cancer, this year's congress unveiled long-term follow-up data from several pivotal studies and significant advances in novel therapeutic strategies. In the realm of targeted therapy, a next-generation combination strategy has been established as the new standard of care for the first-line treatment of patients with advanced epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR)-mutant non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), demonstrating a significant improvement in overall survival. In immunotherapy, novel combination regimens have not only addressed the therapeutic challenge of acquired resistance to EGFR targeted therapies, but also shown clear long-term survival benefits in both the perioperative and locally advanced settings. These findings pave the way for shifting the treatment paradigm to earlier stages for patients with NSCLC. Antibody-drug conjugates have made remarkable strides in this field. They have shown outstanding efficacy in patients with specific resistance mutations and those with brain metastases, and have also demonstrated immense potential in treating patients with HER2-aberrant lung cancer and broader NSCLC populations. This offers new therapeutic options for patients with refractory lung cancer. However, significant challenges remain, including the heterogeneity of resistance mechanisms, the selection of optimal treatment regimens, and management strategies for special populations. Future research should focus on identifying novel precision biomarkers and optimizing therapeutic strategies to ultimately improve clinical outcomes for all patients with lung cancer.
