        • Evaluation of the diagnostic value of artificial intelligence-based CT-FFR and FAI for coronary artery stenosis

          ObjectiveTo investigate the diagnostic value of CT-derived fractional flow reserve (CT-FFR) and fat attenuation index (FAI) based on artificial intelligence-assisted diagnostic software in coronary artery stenosis. MethodsA retrospective analysis was conducted on patients clinically suspected of coronary artery syndrome who underwent coronary computed tomography angiography at Guangdong Province Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine Hospital between June 2021 and May 2025. Patients were divided into two groups according to scanning protocols: group A underwent conventional retrospective electrocardiography-gated scanning, while group B used Flash_ChestPlin mode. Invasive coronary angiography data served as the gold standard for diagnosing vascular stenosis (stenosis rate<50% defined as negative group, ≥50% with clinical symptoms as positive group). Radiation dose was compared between the two scanning protocols. The diagnostic efficacy of CT-FFR, pericoronary FAI, and transluminal attenuation gradient (TAG) based on artificial intelligence system for coronary stenosis was analyzed, including sensitivity, specificity, and area under the curve (AUC). ResultsA total of 567 vessels from 189 patients were analyzed, including 105 males, 84 females with a mean age of (62.5±12.3) years and a mean body mass index of (24.21±3.5) kg/m2. There were 112 patients in the group A and 77 patients in the group B. The radiation dose in the group B was significantly lower than that in the group A [69.7 (58.1, 84.1) mGy·cm vs. 420.4 (338.6, 514.2) mGy·cm, P<0.001]. Significant differences in FAI and CT-FFR were observed between negative and positive groups under both scanning protocols (P<0.05), while no significant difference existed in TAG (P>0.05). In the group A, the AUC values for diagnosing stenosis were 0.925 for CT-FFR, 0.610 for FAI, and 0.516 for TAG. Corresponding values in the group B were 0.889, 0.677, and 0.548 respectively, with CT-FFR demonstrating optimal diagnostic performance. ConclusionUnder both conventional scanning and Flash scanning, the artificial intelligence-based CT-FFR demonstrates good diagnostic performance for coronary artery stenosis, and the Flash protocol significantly lowers radiation dose, indicating substantial potential for clinical application.

        • A review on cardiac positron emission tomography/magnetic resonance imaging in diagnosis of cardivascular diseases

          There are various examination methods for cardiovascular diseases. Non-invasive diagnosis and prognostic information acquisition are the current research hotspots of related imaging examinations. Positron emission tomography (PET)/magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is a new advanced fusion imaging technology that combines the molecular imaging of PET with the soft tissue contrast function of MRI to achieve their complementary advantages. This article briefly introduces several major aspects of cardiac PET/MRI in the diagnosis of cardiovascular disease, including atherosclerosis, ischemic cardiomyopathy, nodular heart disease, and myocardial amyloidosis, in order to promote cardiac PET/MRI to be more widely used in precision medicine in this field.

        • Application effects of internet-based cognitive behavioral therapy in patients with cardiovascular disease: A systematic review and meta-analysis

          Objective To systematically evaluate the efficacy of Internet-based cognitive behavioral therapy (ICBT) in patients with cardiovascular disease (CVD). Methods A computerized search was conducted in PubMed, EMbase, CNKI, and Wanfang databases to retrieve studies investigating the effects of ICBT on CVD patients, with the retrieval period extending from database inception to August 2025. After screening studies based on inclusion and exclusion criteria and extracting relevant data, a meta-analysis was performed using RevMan 5.3 software. Results A total of 13 RCTs involving 1 365 CVD patients were included. The meta-analysis results indicated that ICBT significantly improved depressive symptoms [SMD=?0.31, 95%CI(?0.44, ?0.19), P<0.001] and overall mental health status [SMD=0.44, 95%CI (0.23, 0.64), P<0.001] in CVD patients. However, no statistically significant differences between the two groups were observed in anxiety levels [SMD=?0.60, 95%CI (?1.33, 0.13), P=0.10], sleep quality [MD=2.60, 95%CI (?2.02, 7.23), P=0.27], or overall physical health status [MD=1.77, 95%CI (?0.16, 3.71), P=0.07].ConclusionICBT serves as an effective tool for mental health management in CVD patients. However, its efficacy in alleviating anxiety, improving sleep quality, and enhancing physical health remains inconclusive. Future studies should focus on optimizing intervention modules and exploring personalized strategies to improve comprehensive therapeutic outcomes.

        • Application of artificial intelligence based on multimodal fundus image data in the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular diseases

          Cardiovascular diseases is the leading cause of threat to human life and health worldwide. Early risk assessment, timely diagnosis, and prognosis evaluation are critical to the treatment of cardiovascular diseases. Currently, the evaluation of diagnosis and prognosis of cardiovascular diseases mainly relies on imaging examinations such as coronary CT and coronary angiography, which are expensive, time-consuming, partly invasive, and require high professional competence of the operator, making it difficult to promote in the community or in areas where medical resources are scarce. The fundus microcirculation is a part of the human microcirculation and has similar embryological origins and physiopathological features to cardiovascular circulation. Several studies have revealed fundus imaging biomarkers associated with cardiovascular diseases, and developed and validated intelligent diagnosis and treatment models for cardiovascular diseases based on fundus imaging data. Fundus imaging is expected to be an important adjunct to cardiovascular disease diagnosis and treatment given its noninvasive and convenient nature. The purpose of this review is to summarize the current research status, challenges, and future prospects of the application of artificial intelligence based on multimodal fundus imaging data in cardiovascular disease diagnosis and treatment.

          Cardiovascular disease is a leading cause of death in Chinese population. It is of great significance to further explore the pathogenesis of cardiovascular diseases. Ferroptosis is a recently discovered iron-dependent and non-apoptotic form of regulated cell death, which exerts a regulatory role in a variety of biological events. Some studies have shown that ferroptosis plays an important role in the development of cardiovascular diseases. According to newly scientific reports, we summarized the mechanism and regulation in ferroptosis, and reviewed the results of ferroptosis in common cardiovascular diseases such as cardiac ischemia-reperfusion/myocardial infarction, cardiomyopathy, cardiac hypertrophy, atherosclerosis and abdominal aortic aneurysm.

        • Interpretation of the role of circadian rhythm health in cardiometabolic health and disease risk: The scientific statement from the American Heart Association

          The circadian system maintains physiological homeostasis by precisely orchestrating 24-hour cycles of metabolic and cardiovascular functions. Circadian disruption has been substantiated as a contributor to cardiometabolic dysfunction, significantly elevating the risk of obesity, type 2 diabetes, hypertension, and cardiovascular diseases, thereby emerging as a crucial target for global chronic disease prevention. In 2025, the American Heart Association (AHA) issued a dedicated scientific statement that systematically reviewed the regulatory mechanisms of circadian rhythms and their intrinsic links to cardiometabolic health. It highlighted the pivotal role of modifiable behavioral factors, including light exposure, sleep-wake patterns, meal timing, and timing of physical activity, and proposed multi-faceted intervention strategies centered on chronotherapy. Considering the distinct circadian characteristics and chronic disease epidemiology in the Chinese population compared to Western counterparts, this article, grounded in the statement's core framework and incorporating evidence from localized Chinese research, provides a systematic interpretation of the biological basis of circadian rhythms, the pathophysiological mechanisms underlying disruption-related diseases, and potential intervention pathways. It particularly discusses the applicability of the statement's conclusions to clinical practice and public health strategies in China, aiming to offer an evidence-based reference for developing a cardiometabolic health support system tailored to the national context.
