With the dissemination and popularization of EBM around the world, the evidence-based laboratory medicine has boomed gradually. However, the substantial researches in tbe field are still inadequale now. Based on the facts of hospital laboratory medicine, this article discussed the feasibility that apply the rationale and methods to orient the laboratory quality control.
Objective To review the research progress of mitochondrial dynamics mediated by optic atrophy 1 (OPA1) in skeletal system diseases. MethodsThe literatures about OPA1-mediated mitochondrial dynamics in recent years were reviewed, and the bioactive ingredients and drugs for the treatment of skeletal system diseases were summarized, which provided a new idea for the treatment of osteoarthritis. Results OPA1 is a key factor involved in mitochondrial dynamics and energetics and in maintaining the stability of the mitochondrial genome. Accumulating evidence indicates that OPA1-mediated mitochondrial dynamics plays an important role in the regulation of skeletal system diseases such as osteoarthritis, osteoporosis, and osteosarcoma. Conclusion OPA1-mediated mitochondrial dynamics provides an important theoretical basis for the prevention and treatment of skeletal system diseases.
Objective To explore the value of applying intelligent quality control systems to the quality management of hospital health examination services, and to provide a reference for quality control improvement in the health examination industry. Methods The Department of Health Management Center of Zigong Fourth People’s Hospital used an intelligent quality control system to optimize the health management service process. The work efficiency and feedback of health examinations in the Department of Health Management Center before (From October to December 2019) and after (From October to December 2023) the intelligent upgrade of the health management service system were compared. Results During the research period, 27047 individuals were tested before the intelligent upgrade, and 33868 individuals were tested after the upgrade. Before the intelligent upgrade, there were 205 cases (14.24%) of errors that the system failed to detect; 208 cases (8.72%) were missed in the initial examination system; 18 cases (13.53%) were missed in the overall examination system; 90 cases (0.33%) had overdue physical examination reports. After the intelligent upgrade, there were 38 cases (2.42%) of errors that the system failed to detect; 56 cases (1.93%) were missed in the initial examination system; 10 cases (3.31%) were missed in the overall examination system; 67 cases (0.20%) had overdue physical examination reports. After the intelligent upgrade, the system showed better performance than before in detecting errors in health examinations, avoiding initial and total leak diagnosis, timely report submission, and improving the satisfaction and complaint situation of health management services among examinees (P<0.05). Conclusion The intelligent quality control system is conducive to improving the quality management of hospital health examination services and enhancing the efficiency of examination services.
In order to guarantee the safety and accuracy of the whole treating process as well as better link up of each section during the treatment, we did research in order to establish a project concerning the process quality control (PQC) of treating liver cancer with CyberKnife. From the safety and accuracy point of view, we divided the whole process of treating liver cancer with CyberKnife into ten links, i.e. the registration of patients' information, the implantation of fiducial markers, fixation of body posture, CT localization, target delineation, design of the treatment plan, quality assurance in physics, implementation of the treatment plan, inspection on the correctness and data archiving. We analyzed the possible mistakes in each link and the consequences brought by them. To smoothly connect all the links, a special part "Attention" was added between every two links. Various wrong operations which may influence the safety and accuracy of treatment were illustrated, and the consequences brought by them were also explained. The "Attention" part among links offers important information for the next step, and gives us reminding and warnings. The project of quality control covers all the important links when treating liver cancer with CyberKnife. It offers regulations, reminding and warning for us so that the safety and accuracy of treatment can be guaranteed, and the work of all staff could be closely connected.
[Abstract]It is an effective way of constructing a lung transplantation quality control system suitable for China's national conditions to break through the many dilemmas in China. Under the leadership of the National Quality Control Center, a stage-by-stage and full-scale quality control system for lung transplantation in China has been gradually constructed and extended to many lung transplantation centers nationwide, which has strongly promoted the development of lung transplantation in China. This article outlines the construction, promotion and experience of China's lung transplantation quality control system, aiming to provide reference for further development of relevant measures to promote the homogenization of lung transplantation in China.
ObjectiveExplore the impact of a digital-intelligence-based quality control platform for thyroid cancer on the effectiveness of clinical diagnosis and treatment quality management. MethodsThe digital-intelligence-based quality control platform for thyroid cancer at Zhejiang Provincial People’s Hospital was launched at the end of July 2022. In its initial phase, six quality control indicators related to the standardized diagnosis and treatment of thyroid cancer were deployed. This study analyzed the changes in these six quality control indicators between January 2022 and November 2023, comparing data before and after the platform’s implementation. ResultsCompared with the period from January to July 2022 (prior to the platform’s launch), the rates of preoperative cytopathological examination (t=–8.490, P<0.001) and postoperative pTNM staging for thyroid cancer patients (t=–3.027, P=0.013) increased from July to November 2023 (one year post-launch). However, the proportion of minimally invasive surgeries among thyroid cancer patients (t=4.085, P=0.002) decreased. The linear regression model results indicated that, following the platform’s launch, there was a gradual increase over time in both the preoperative cytopathological examination rate for thyroid cancer (P=0.001) and the postoperative pTNM staging rate (P=0.049). ConclusionPreliminary results of this study suggest that the thyroid cancer digital-intelligence-based quality control platform developed by our team can effectively enhance the standardized quality control of clinical diagnosis and treatment for thyroid cancer.
Since the establishment in 2016, especially after the outbreak of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) epidemic, the Hospital Infection Management Quality Control Center of Shuangliu District has carried out quality management and technical ability training for full-time and part-time infection prevention and control personnel through various methods, and used grid management to organize examinations and assessments, inspections and supervision, as well as consultation and assistance. As a result, the culture of infection prevention and control has been deeply rooted in the hearts of the people, the health administrative departments have increased investment in infrastructure and equipment, the funds for infection prevention and control have continued to increase, and the prevention and control quality of COVID-19 and daily works in the region has been continuously improved. The center plays a leading role in the promotion of the standardization, homogenization, and quality improvement of the prevention and control of hospital infection in the district.

Giant thoracic tumor is currently one of the diagnostic and therapeutic challenges of thoracic surgery, with no established guideline or standard for diagnosis and treatment. The quality control of individualized surgical strategy and perioperative management with multi-disciplinary participation is the key to ensure the safety and improve the prognosis of patients. Based on the clinical experience of our institution and others, we hereby discussed and summarized the basic principles, surgical strategies and perioperative management of giant thoracic tumor, aiming to provide a reference of quality control.
Epigenetics refers to the modification effect of external and internal environmental factors on genes under the premise of the unaltered genetic sequence, leading to changes in gene expression level or function, and thereby affecting various phenotypes or disease outcomes. In recent years, epigenetics has attracted increasing attention. Among them, DNA methylation has been shown to be closely related to human development and the development of disease. However, the high-dimensional omics data generated by genome-wide methylation detection can comprehensively reflect the overall and local epigenetic modifications at the genome level, which has become one of the main research contents in this field. Based on genome-wide methylation chip data, this paper summarized the quality control process of this omics data, common epigenetic omics correlation statistical analysis methods and ideas, and visualization realization of main results based on SAS JMP Genomics 10 software, so as to provide reference for similar studies.
