Since the mid-20th century, the medical model has changed significantly. Surgical treatments should not only cure the diseases, but restore function and normal appearance of the affected parts. This is both what patients crave for and what clinicians want to achieve. In 1987, the founders of Chinese prosthetic and reconstructive surgery, led by Academician Disheng Zhang and Professor Zhiming Yang, established the first academic journal in the field of reparative and reconstructive surgery in China, namely, the Journal of Repair and Reconstruction Surgery, with “perfect integration of structure, function and appearance” as its goal. In 1992, the journal was renamed as Chinese Journal of Reparative and Reconstructive Surgery.
Chinese Journal of Reparative and Reconstructive Surgery (ISSN 1002-1892, CN 51-1372/R), published monthly, is a peer-reviewed Open Access journal, sponsored by Chinese Association of Rehabilitation Medicine and Sichuan University, under the charge of the National Health Commission of the People's Republic of China. CJRRS was established in 1987 and indexed in MEDLINE/PubMed, SCOPUS, EBSCO, Chemical Abstract (CA), CNKI, WANFANG Data, etc.
Chinese Journal of Reparative and Reconstructive Surgery seeks to publish the peer-reviewed research from all aspects of reparative and reconstructive surgery and related interdisciplinary fields, including basic, applied and clinical research. The journal publishes fully peer-reviewed Original Articles, Reviews, and Clinical Studies.
