Objective To explore the effects of CO2 pneumoperitoneum on pancreatic function in diabetic rabbits. Methods Forty-eight rabbits were divided into 4 groups: control group (the group of N0, n=4), the group of T0 (n=4), the group of T10 (n=20), and the group of T15 (n=20). The animal used in the groups of T0, T10 and T15 was diabetic rabbit, and the pressures of pneumoperitoneum of the three groups were 0 mm Hg, 10 mm Hg and 15 mm Hg respectively. The model of diabetic rabbits were made through intrvenous administration of Allxon. Arterial blood samples were collected before the onset of CO2 pneumoperitoneum, 0, 2, 6, 12 hours after deflation for measuring blood glucose, amylase, insulin and C-peptid. Then the rabbits were sacrificed and their pancreases were removed for measuring SOD activity and MDA content. Results After abdominal deflation, the blood glucose, amylase, insulin, C-peptid, MDA content were significantly increased (P<0.05), and SOD activity was significantly decreased(P<0.05). Twelve hours after abdominal deflation, the levels of blood glucose, amylase, insulin, C-peptid, MDA content returned to those before pneumoperitoneum was established in group T10. But, those in group T15 were higher (P<0.05) than the levels before insufflation. The SOD activities in both group T10 and group T15 twelve hours after abdominal deflation were significantly different (P<0.05) from those before pneumoperitoneum was established. There were statistically significant differences (P<0.05) between group T10 and T15 in amylase, C-peptid, MDA content and SOD activity. Conclusion CO2 pneumoperitoneum has an certain adverse influence on pancreatic function of the diabetic rabbits. The degree of injury is correlated with the pressure of pneumoperitoneum. Pancreatic function may returned to preoperative level soon after abdominal deflation in group T10, but did not return in group T15.
Experimental uveitis was induced in rabbits by bovine serum albumin. Ocular inflammation, protein content of aqueous humor,T lymphocyte transformation and serum circulating immune complex were reduced markedly after the treatment of tetrandrine (Tet, 50mg/kg/d,ip)and dexamethasone(Dex, 5mg/kg/d,ip)for 8 days. Four days after withdrawal of Tet and Dex the protien content of the aqueous humor and serum eiucrlating immune complexes rose again, but these parameters in Tet group is lower than that in Dex group. The pathological
study showed that inflammation of choroid in Tet treated group was lighter than that in untreated group. These results suggest that Tet is an effective inhibitory agent on bovine serum albumin-induced experimental uveitis. Its mechanism may be related to the suppression of cellular and humoral immune function aside from antiinflammation.

Objective To investigate the changed rules of the cardiac functions in rabbits and to provide theoretical gists for clinical diagnosis and treatment after blunt chest trauma(BCT). Methods Using the models of moderate to severe BCT with BIM-Ⅱ Bio-impactor in 20 rabbits to examinate the cardiac functions with cardiac catheterization, the single photonemission computed tomography(SPECT) and the Doppler echocardiography at preinjury and 1h, 2h, 4h, 6h, 8h, 12h and 24h after BCT. Results Central venous pressure( CVP), left ventricular enddiastolic pressure (LVEDP) and the decreasing time constant of left intraventricular pressure (T) at 24h after trauma were higher obviously than those before trauma (Plt;0.05,0.01). The -dp/dtmax at 24h after trauma was lower markedly than that before trauma (Plt;0.05 ). The ejection fraction(EF),1/3 EF, 1/3 ejection rate(1/3ER) and the ratio of 1/3 filling rate (1/3FR) to 1/3ER of the right ventricle at 24h after impacted were lower markedly than those before impacted (Plt;0.05). The peak filling rate, 1/3 filling fraction, 1/3 filling rate, the ratio of peak filling rate to peak ejection rate and the ratio of 1/3FR to 1/3ER of the left ventricular at 24h after impacted were lower obviously than those before impacted (Plt;0.05, 0.01). Conclusion The cardiac functions are changed significantly after BCT. The expressions of the right ventricular dysfunctions mainly are systolic dysfunction while the left ventricular dysfunctions are mainly diastolic dysfunction after BCT. All the cardiac catheterization, SPECT and the Doppler echocardiography are beneficial to the diagnosis of cardiac dysfunction after BCT. The SPECT is more exactitude and the Doppler echocardiography is more cheaper.
Interpretation of the complete scientific connotation of functional foods accurately prior to approval and registration based on animal tests and small sample size human food tests is challenging. Further technical evaluation after market introduction should be carried out on safety, health function and other aspects of those widely used commercial scale production products. According to the analysis report on the consumption situation of post-marketing population submitted when applying for product registration extension since the implementation of the functional food registration and filing management measures more than 3 years ago, the post-marketing evaluation report of functional food still lacks systematic and perfect evidence support. Based on the successful experience of evidence-based medicine and post-marketing evaluation evidence, this paper analyzes the post-marketing evaluation content, evidence source construction, evidence classification and classification of functional food, and puts forward the preliminary idea of constructing post-marketing evaluation evidence body of functional food safety and health function technology from multiple view points, so as to provide insights into evidence system research in this field in the future.
ObjectiveTo study the change and significance of the serum nitric oxide (NO) level in patient with obstructive jaundice complicated with renal dysfunction. MethodsThe level of NO, BUN, Cr in serum and the activity of NOS in 25 patients with obstructive jaundice and renal dysfunction and 26 healthy adults was studied.ResultsThe patients’ serum NO level and the activity of NOS were significantly lower than those in the control group(P<0.01),whereas the serum BUN and Cr levels were significantly higher than those in control group(P<0.01). The linear correlation analysis showed that the serum NO had a negative correlation between serum BUN and Cr level (P<0.01). ConclusionThe patients with obstructive jaundice and renal dysfunction may lead to the decrease of serum NO level. NO may have some protective effects to the renal function during obstructive jaundice.
Objective
To investigate the method and effectiveness of coracoplasty with mini-incision for subcoracoid impingement syndrome.
Methods
Between May 2006 and September 2011, 4 patients with subcoracoid impingement syndrome were treated, including 3 cases of congenital dysplasia of the coracoid process and 1 case of anterior glenohumeral instability. There were 3 males and 1 female with an average age of 36 years (range, 20-56 years). The disease duration was 6-22 months (mean, 11.2 months). The patients had a history of chronic pain and click of the anterior should, which was aggravated in adduction, internal rotation, and flexion. The results of the coracoid impingement test were positive by Neer and Hawkins-Kennedy impingement sign. The axial CT in adduction position showed that the coracohumeral interval decreased and coracoid index increased. The 2 cm lateral coracoid incision was made and the 0.5-1.5 cm coracoid neck was revealed and cut by osteotomy. The coracoplasty was performed by amputating the conjoined tendon insertion of the short head of the biceps and the coracobrachialis muscle and suturing to proximal coracoid osteotomy surface. Shoulder was fixed with the external braces for 6 weeks.
Results
Healing of incision by first intention was observed in all cases without any complication. All the 4 patients were followed up from 8 months to 5 years. At last follow-up, pain and click disappeared. The mean visual analogue scale (VAS), University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA), Constant, and simple shoulder test (SST) scores were significantly improved from 7.75, 10.25, 65.50, and 9.75 at preoperation to 0.25, 34.25, 91.25, and 0.25 at last follow-up respectively. The axial CT in adduction position and MRI showed that long coracoid process was removed; the coracohumeral interval was increased to 13.38 mm from 4.16 mm at preoperation; and the coracoid index was decreased to 0.28 mm from 13.08 mm at preoperation.
Conclusion
Coracoplasty with mini-incision is an effective method to relieve clinical symptoms of subcoracoid impingement, which has less complications and faster recovery.
Crouzon s syndrome is one of the craniofacial dysostosis. It not only presents midface retrusion but also obstructs the air way. There were much more effective changes on speech and velopharyngeal function following LeFort Ⅲ maxillary advancement. In our study, 9 cases underwent maxillary advancement in the last seven years. All patients in this series underwent serial cephalometric study before and after maxillary advancement. The results showed that the distance from the posterior nasal spine to the posterior pharyngeal wall on the posterior pharyngeal wall on the lateral cephalograms reached 18.89mm which was 9.30mm more larger than that of the preoperative distance in average. The angle formed by the soft palate and the hard palate reached 159.4 degree which was 16 degree larger than the preopertive angle 144.6 degree. Clinically, improvement of phonation was very obvious.
Flexible conductive fibers have been widely applied in wearable flexible sensing. However, exposed wearable flexible sensors based on liquid metal (LM) are prone to abrasion and significant conductivity degradation. This study presented a high-sensitivity LM conductive fiber with integration of strain sensing, electrical heating, and thermochromic capabilities, which was fabricated by coating eutectic gallium-indium (EGaIn) onto spandex fibers modified with waterborne polyurethane (WPU), followed by thermal curing to form a protective polyurethane sheath. This fiber, designated as Spandex/WPU/EGaIn/Polyurethane (SWEP), exhibits a four-layer coaxial structure: spandex core, WPU modification layer, LM conductive layer, and polyurethane protective sheath. The SWEP fiber had a diameter of (458.3 ± 10.4) μm, linear density of (2.37 ± 0.15) g/m, and uniform EGaIn coating. The fiber had excellent conductivity with an average value of (3 716.9 ± 594.2) S/m. The strain sensing performance was particularly noteworthy. A 5 cm × 5 cm woven fabric was fabricated using polyester warp yarns and SWEP weft yarns. The fabric exhibited satisfactory moisture permeability [(536.06 ± 33.15) g/(m2·h)] and maintained stable thermochromic performance after repeated heating cycles. This advanced conductive fiber development is expected to significantly promote LM applications in wearable electronics and smart textile systems.
From 1979 to 1994, reparative and recons tructive surgery were used to repair the war injuries of skins, bones, blood vessels and nerves of the limbs in 800 cases. A systematic clinical study was carried out. Many new operative methods were used and the results of treatment were good. Innovations and modifications were made in technique. In 120 cases of warin juries having soft tissues defects including skin and muscles, various tissue transplantations were used with the hope to accomplish onestaged repair of the defect and reconstruction of motor function of muscle. To those infections of bone and joint in war injuries, following early eradication of infected focus, transplantation of musculocutaneous flap or omental graft was immediately carried out with the aim to obtain primary healing of the wound. In the treatment of bone defects from war wounds with loss of skin and muscles, the vascularized skeletocutaneous graft was used. In the treatment of 150 cases of injury of peripheral nerve from forearms, the result of good to fair rated 68.8 percent for upper extremity and that for lower extremity, it was 62.2 percent. Following the early repair of 500 cases of injury of peripheral blood vessels, the patency rate of the blood vessel was 90 percent. The result following by pass vascular graft in the treatment of forearms injury of blood vessels even with very poor local condition was still very successful.
In recent years, exploring the physiological and pathological mechanisms of brain functional integration from the neural network level has become one of the focuses of neuroscience research. Due to the non-stationary and nonlinear characteristics of neural signals, its linear characteristics are not sufficient to fully explain the potential neurophysiological activity mechanism in the implementation of complex brain functions. In order to overcome the limitation that the linear algorithm cannot effectively analyze the nonlinear characteristics of signals, researchers proposed the transfer entropy (TE) algorithm. In recent years, with the introduction of the concept of brain functional network, TE has been continuously optimized as a powerful tool for nonlinear time series multivariate analysis. This paper first introduces the principle of TE algorithm and the research progress of related improved algorithms, discusses and compares their respective characteristics, and then summarizes the application of TE algorithm in the field of electrophysiological signal analysis. Finally, combined with the research progress in recent years, the existing problems of TE are discussed, and the future development direction is prospected.
