        • Application of Knowledge attitude behavior and practice health education path table in health education of physician-nurse collaboration for children with epilepsy

          ObjectiveTo develop Knowledge attitude behavior and practice (KABP) health education path table, and to explore its application in health education of physician-nurse collaboration for children with epilepsy, and provide practical reference for health education of children with epilepsy.MethodsA convenient sampling method was used to select 94 family units of children with epilepsy and their main caregivers from the Department of Neurology in Hunan Children’s Hospital from September 2018 to March 2019. Divided into observation group and control group, 47 cases in each group. In the control group, the health care education was carried out by the conventional method of medical personnel’s one-way input of knowledge. The observation group conducted health education through interactive participation in the path of the health education path of KABP on the basis of regular health education. Then compared the effect of the health education between the two groups.ResultsAfter the intervention, the quality of life scores of the observation group were significantly higher than the control group (P<0.01). The relevant knowledge scores of main caregivers at 1 and 3 months after discharge were significant higher than those in the control group (P=0.008, P=0.001). The medication compliance scores of children with epilepsy at 1 and 3 months after discharge were significant higher than those in the control group (P=0.010, P=0.006).ConclusionsThe KABP health education pathway can improve the knowledge level of caregivers, as well as the medication compliance and quality of life of children with epilepsy.

        • Study of the Attitude, Subjective Norm and Behavioral Intention toward Caring Mechanically Ventilated Patients among Nurses in ICU Settings in Chengdu

          Objectives To describe the attitude , subjective norm and behavioral intention of ICU nurses toward mechanically ventilated patients in Chengdu. Methods The modified version of Attitude, Subjective Norm and Behavioral Intention of Nurses Toward Mechanically Ventilated Patients (ASIMP) was used to investigate ICU nurses in three tertiary-level hospitals in Chengdu. Results The attitude, subjective norm and behavioral intention among ICT nurses respectively toward mechanically ventilated patients were 69.1%, 91.3%, and 95.9%. Conclusion The attitude, subjective norm and behavioral intention of most ICT nurses toward mechanically ventilated patients were positive.

        • Survey on Knowledge, Attitude and Behaviour regarding Clinical Practice Guidelines of Primary Healthcare Workers in Gaolan County of Gansu Province

          ObjectiveTo investigate primary healthcare workers' knowledge, attitude and behaviour, and explore the way of guidelines' popularization, application and surveillance mechanism in primary healthcare institutions. MethodsHealthcare workers in seven township hospitals in Gaolan county, Gansu province were given a questionnaire to test their knowledge, attitudes and behaviour regarding Clinical practice guidelines. ResultsAmong the 143 distributed questionnaires, 143 valid were retrieved. The results showed that 80% of respondents knew the guidelines and 51% had used guidelines in treatment, 32% obtained guidelines mainly through distribution by affiliations. The most popular type of guidelines was self-developed by native departments. Respondents (37%) considered difficult availability of guidelines major barriers to popularization, 74% failed to receive training about guidelines, 88% looked forward to special organizations in charge of disseminating guidelines and conducting related training on how to apply guidelines. ConclusionPrimary healthcare workers report low awareness of, attention to and compliance with clinical practice guidelines. The greatest challenge for guidelines' popularization in township hospitals is difficult availability and it is of vital importance for primary institutions to enhance guidelines' implementation and strengthen learning and conduct training.

        • Application of clinical nursing pathway based on information-knowledge-attitude-practice theory in percutaneous renal needle biopsy

          ObjectiveTo explore the application and effect of clinical nursing pathway based on information-knowledge-attitude-practice (IKPA) theory in percutaneous renal needle biopsy.MethodsThis is a historical control study. A total of 460 patients who underwent percutaneous renal biopsy in West China Hospital of Sichuan University between April and December 2020 were prospectively recruited as the pathway group, and a clinical nursing pathway based on IKAP theory was implemented. By contrast, the data of 617 patients who underwent percutaneous renal biopsy and received routine care in the same hospital between April and December 2019 were retrospectively collected as the control group. The length of hospital stay, hospitalization expenses, the incidences of postoperative complications (macroscopic haematuria, perirenal hematoma, and acute urinary retention), the incidence of postoperative postural hypotension, and the management enrollment rate of chronic kidney disease patients were compared between the two groups.ResultsThe length of hospital stay [median (lower quartile, upper quartile): 8 (7, 11) vs. 8 (7, 12) d] and the hospitalization expenses [median (lower quartile, upper quartile): 7380.50 (6401.86, 8789.21) vs. 8167.00 (6816.50, 10044.50) yuan] were less in the pathway group than those in the control group, the incidences of postoperative macroscopic haematuria (1.52% vs. 6.97%) and perirenal hematoma (2.61% vs. 5.02%) were lower in the pathway group than those in the control group, the management enrollment rate of chronic kidney disease patients was higher in the pathway group than that in the control group (26.09% vs. 6.16%), and the differences between the two groups were statistically significant (P<0.05). The differences in the incidences of acute urinary retention (8.26% vs. 11.18%) and postoperative postural hypotension (0.00% vs. 0.81%) between the two groups were not statistically significant (P>0.05).ConclusionThe application of clinical nursing pathway in percutaneous renal needle biopsy can effectively reduce the length of hospital stay and hospitalization expenses, and improve the management enrollment rate of chronic kidney disease patients.

        • Knowledge, attitude and practice of hepatitis E among the residents of Anlu City

          ObjectivesTo investigate the knowledge, attitude and practice (KAP) of hepatitis E among Anlu residents and to identify the influencing factors.MethodsA stratified random sampling method was used and 1 840 Anlu residents were recruited between March 2019 and September 2019. Chi-square test and multivariate logistic regression model were used to analyze the influencing factors by SPSS 22.0 software.ResultsThe overall awareness rate of residents was 36.32%. There were statistically significant differences in age, occupation category and education (P<0.05). Qualification rate of awareness increased with age until age 40, but not with age after 40. Individuals occupationally exposed to swines (swine breeders, sales staff, slaughterers) had the lowest rates. Education level was positively associated with the qualification rate of awareness. The overall positive attitude rate was 53.89%. The overall healthy behavior rate was 82.95%.ConclusionsThe overall knowledge and awareness of hepatitis E among Anlu residents is low, especially individuals who have been occupationally exposed to swines. Health education and promotion programs are necessary.

        • A Study of the Cognitive Attitude of Evidence-based Medicine in Medical Postgraduates

          Objective To investigate the cognitive attitudes of evidence-based medicine (EBM) and barriers to applying EBM in clinical practice in medical postgraduates. Methods One thousand and one hundred and thirtyseven medical postgraduates selecting the EBM courses were surveyed by questionnaires.SPSS11.5 software was used for statistical analysis. Results Medical postgraduates acquired the knowledge of EBM through classroom and seminar. Medical postgraduates though that EBM could guide clinical research and improve operational lever and sever patient. More and more postgraduates will to take part in relevant training of EBM. The barriers to using EBM in clinical practice included lack of EBM knowledge, searching and accessing evidence, having influences from clinical experience and authorities, uncertainties about the effectiveness of evidence. Conclusions EBM education has transformed from dissemination and popularization stage to application stage. We should strengthen the training of clinical evidence-based practice.by evidence-based medical education.

        • Analysis of the current status of nursing assistants’ attitudes toward the elderly and the factors influencing

          Objective To investigate the current status of nursing assistants’ attitudes and aging knowledge toward the elderly and to analyze their influencing factors. Methods Nursing assistants from West China Hospital of Sichuan University were selected by convenience sampling method between November and December 2021. A questionnaires were administered using the General Information Questionnaire, the Chinese version of the Attitude toward the Elderly Scale, and the Aging Knowledge Scale. Results A total of 391 nursing assistants were included. Nursing assistants’ attitudes toward older adults scored (126.26±19.79) and knowledge of aging scored (13.59±5.30). The results of multiple linear regression analysis showed that whether or not they had cared for older adults, whether or not they had received relevant training, whether or not they were willing to receive training, having worked as a caregiver for at least 5 years, and knowledge of aging were the main influencing factors on nursing assistants’ attitudes toward older adults (P<0.05). Conclusions The attitudes of nursing assistants toward the elderly in this group were on the positive level, yet their knowledge of aging requires improvement. Intrinsic learning motivation was identified as the strongest predictor of these attitudes. Therefore, systematic training should be designed to foster professional identity, integrate aging-related knowledge, and employ methods such as aging simulation experiences. This integrated approach can effectively promote the internalization of positive attitudes and enhance the quality of care.

        • Study on Life Attitudes of Nursing Undergraduates in a University

          ObjectiveTo know the life attitude and its influence factors of nursing undergraduates in a school of nursing,so as to provide the theoretical evidence for the exploration of the way of life education. MethodsA cluster sample of 246 nursing undergraduates were asked to complete the survey,who were sampled from grade 2008 to grade 2011 in a University of Sichuan province between Nevember and December 2011.Then we used the way of questionnaire to analyze and research the life attitude and its influence factors of nursing students,and this study mainly used the Life Attitude Scale (LAS) questionnaire which was made by Taiwan scholar Manying Xie. ResultsThe total score of the investigated nursing students'attitude to life was 365.1±43.6,and the total and each level scores were higher than Taiwan college students and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.01).Female students'total score of attitude to life and the existence sense dimension were significantly higher than male students'(P<0.05).The third grade students'score of love and care level had a significant difference with the second grade and the first grade students (P<0.05).Through correlation analysis,nursing students'life attitude and self-rating interpersonal relationship (r=0.256,P=0.000),the situation of families talking about death (r=0.210,P=0.001),whether there was a Dutch act idea (r=0.172,P=0.007),family income (r=0.151,P=0.017),gender (r=0.130,P=0.042) and whether had siblings (r=-0.143,P=0.025) were positively correlated. ConclusionWe should carry out targeted life and death education for nursing students to promote them to establish positive life attitude and value.

        • A Survey Analysis of Clinicians’ Knowledge and Attitudes towards Patient Safety

          Objective To learn and analyse the current clinicians’ knowledge and attitudes towards patient safety, and to provide relevant evidence for future medical education. Method We conducted a survey on clinicians mainly in West China Hospital of Sichuan University with group random sampling method. We analysed the data on the clinicians’ knowledge and attitudes with SPSS softerware. Result Totally 300 questionnaires were distributed, of which 258 were completed adequately. The results showed the clinicians’ knowledge on patient safety was poor, however, the respcnse from the clinicians in Outpatient Department were better than those in Inpatient Department. The majority of the clinicians (above 95.00%) were willing to learn the knowledge of patient safety. Conclusion  As the clinicians are willing to learn the knowledge of patient safety positively, it is necessary to integrate patient safety education into the current medical education curriculum.

        • Investigation on knowledge, attitude and practice of Standard Practice for Intravenous Nursing among nursing staff

          Objective To investigate the status of knowledge, attitude and practice (KAP) of Standard Practice for Intravenous Nursing among nurses. Methods A total of 140 nurses were recruited and investigated with a self-designed questionnaire on March 16th, 2016. Results A total of 140 questionnaires were collected and 137 valid questionnaires were finally analyzed. Nurses’ KAP scores of Standard Practice for Intravenous Nursing were good. Hospital level, hospital characteristics, position and whether the nurses were specialized in intravenous nursing were influencing factors of the scores (P<0.05). Conclusions The general situation of KAP of Standard Practice for Intravenous Nursing is good, but nurses' knowledge on intravenous treatment is rather weak. Nurses should pay more attention to the knowledge of Standard Practice for Intravenous Nursing. Targeted education should be provided for nurses to promote the formation of positive attitude and healthy behaviors of clinical intravenous nursing practice.
